Fixed in upstream master via the following two commits: [1] https://git.samba.org/?p=samba.git;a=commit;h=16c89835cf07caa2082b586666095deba38ef962 [2] https://git.samba.org/?p=samba.git;a=commit;h=26661218b3d3f0d4ee89039727bc110e972c2851 After upgrading to the latest samba version i.e samba-4.6.3-0.el7rhgs i am able to restore snapshots in windows. Tried scenarios like 1) taking a snapshot 2) Activating snapshot 3) Deleting already present files in windows mount 4) Right clicking and restoring the data back. Looks fine so marking the bug as verified. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
