Description Josh Carter 2017-07-12 19:07:33 UTC
Description of problem:

All scanning of virtual machines are failing. The guest systems all reside on the same VMware LUN (shared over three ESXi hosts and the appliances are also on this LUN). Those guest OSs consist of RHEL and Windows 2012 so the filesystems would be a mixture of EXT and NTFS. The datastore itself is NFS3. I cannot perform the SmartState analysis on the appliance, it is greyed out.

Comment 2 Rich Oliveri 2017-07-12 19:13:15 UTC
What's the version of the VDDK installed on the appliance?

Comment 3 Josh Carter 2017-07-13 14:04:59 UTC
Installing the VDDK 6.0.2 was able to make SmartState Analysis work. Various 5.5 versions did not work, nor did 6.0; 6.0.2 is the first version with the required fix.
