After updating to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.4, mutter was not able to configure pointer devices which used the xorg-x11-drv-evdev driver. As a consequence, users in RHEL 7.4, were not able to configure settings such as the mouse pointer speed and the left-handed mouse button order. With this update, support for pointer devices using xorg-x11-drv-evdev has been added back, and the described problem no longer occurs.
