Description James Paul Turner 2017-12-30 02:02:12 UTC
As per the Fedora policy for non-responsive package maintainers (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers), I write to request that the maintainers for the MPFR package respond.

MPFR is now two releases behind upstream, and the following bugs remain unaddressed:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1252934
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1489625
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1299649

I have uploaded a specfile and srpm, which updates the package to the most recent version 4.0.0, and also fixed a bug in the specfile where the info document's encoding has been corrupted. All that is required is for a maintainer to approve the package for release.

Specfile:
https://jamesturner246.fedorapeople.org/mpfr-4.0.0/mpfr.spec

SRPM:
https://jamesturner246.fedorapeople.org/mpfr-4.0.0/mpfr-4.0.0-1.fc28.src.rpm

Koji scratch build:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=23945790

In any case, I am happy to help maintain the MPFR package. I do require packager sponsorship first, however. I have submitted an update for review at:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1528781

I await your response. All the best,
James.

I replied privately and took bz1528781. Sorry for the delay.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 28 development cycle.
Changing version to '28'.
