Cause:
random_page_cost postgresql configuration value set to 1.1 in remote region
Consequence:
New regions will not initiate data sync to the global region
Workaround (if any):
Keep the random_page_cost at the default value (4)
Result:
New data sync will complete

As this only happens with modified config and not with out of the box config I would not backport. I think a knowledgebase article is in order so if anyone else has modified this might come up in a search. Filled out the doc text section with required info for a KB. Closing as WONTFIX. The needinfo request[s] on this closed bug have been removed as they have been unresolved for 500 days |
