Description of problem: /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop is causing errors while updating desktop database: sudo update-desktop-database Error in file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop": "font/ttf" is an invalid MIME type ("font" is an unregistered media type) Error in file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop": "font/otf" is an invalid MIME type ("font" is an unregistered media type) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-font-viewer-3.28.0-1.fc28.x86_64 How reproducible: run: sudo update-desktop-database Steps to Reproduce: 1. install gnome-font-viewer if not present 2. run update-desktop-database (as root) Actual results: Error in file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop": "font/ttf" is an invalid MIME type ("font" is an unregistered media type) Error in file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop": "font/otf" is an invalid MIME type ("font" is an unregistered media type) Expected results: No errors all desktop files should have valid syntax Additional info:
