It was discovered that the Libraries component of OpenJDK failed to correctly check type of the exception passed to the cleanup handle when using MethodHandles' tryFinally() method.  An untrusted Java application or applet could use this flaw to bypass Java sandbox restrictions.

Affected functionality - MethodHandles' tryFinally() method - was only introduced in OpenJDK 9.
