When user is logged in to the X session on the console and the same user is
logged in via ssh and trying to run mc, the mc process hangs on /dev/gpmctl:

$ strace -p 19513
Process 19513 attached - interrupt to quit
connect(8, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/dev/gpmctl"}, 13 <unfinished ...>
Process 19513 detached

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion, but this component is not scheduled to be updated in
the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. If you would like
this request to be reviewed for the next minor release, ask your
support representative to set the next rhel-x.y flag to "?".
