Description adam winberg 2019-09-10 11:37:37 UTC
Please build python-pandas for EPEL 8

Comment 1 Orion Poplawski 2019-09-27 14:17:54 UTC
Should be landing in epel-playground shortly - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=37892803

Comment 2 Ling Li 2019-10-03 17:10:25 UTC
It seems that some dependencies are missing from EPEL8, even though pandas is there.

# yum --enablerepo epel-testing --enablerepo epel-playground --enablerepo PowerTools install python3-pandas

Error:
 Problem: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides python3-Bottleneck needed by python3-pandas-0.25.1-2.epel8.playground.x86_64
  - nothing provides python3-numexpr needed by python3-pandas-0.25.1-2.epel8.playground.x86_64
  - nothing provides python3-tables needed by python3-pandas-0.25.1-2.epel8.playground.x86_64
(try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)

Comment 3 Orion Poplawski 2019-10-04 17:06:47 UTC
These have been built in playground now - not sure when the next playground repo refresh is, but presumably within 24 hours.
Some are being submitted to EPEL8 proper - https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2019-359bfeb9f2

Comment 4 Ling Li 2019-10-05 17:43:40 UTC
Thank you! Just to report on the status:

* python3-numexpr and python3-tables have appeared in epel-testing but python3-Bottleneck is still missing.
* none in epel-playground yet.

Comment 5 Orion Poplawski 2019-10-06 17:29:29 UTC
Looks like playground finally got a repo push so I can install python3-pandas from there now.

Comment 6 adam winberg 2019-10-29 12:17:24 UTC
Any guess as to when this will make it to stable?
