I'm no longer using QGIS on RHEL, so unfortunately I don't have the time/interest to get this setup, but the existing packages in Fedora and/or EPEL should work for any interested party to get it up and running I'm not using QGIS at all, this request was submitted on behalf of my users. I will leave this ticket open for a while if there are anyone else interested in maintaining this and I will check with my userbase if there is anyone willing. I have the need and the interest. BUt I've never maintained a package. Is there a howto somewhere ? (In reply to Ludovic Hirlimann [:Paul-muadib] from comment #3) > I have the need and the interest. BUt I've never maintained a package. Is > there a howto somewhere ? I have read https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL_Package_Maintainers, and have contacted https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qgis to become a co-maintainer and from there manage EPEL (haven't gotten any replies yet). You can't co-maintain a package unless you are a packager. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_package_collection_maintainers (In reply to Volker Fröhlich from comment #5) > You can't co-maintain a package unless you are a packager. > > https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_package_collection_maintainers I've sent my introducory email to become a packager. Please branch and build qgis in epel8. If you do not wish to maintain qgis in epel8, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS jonathanspw); please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qgis/adduser Will you be able to branch and build qgis in epel8? I would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish to build it on epel9 (FAS: jonathanspw). I'm not the maintainer, I guess the 'needinfo' should be directed to someone else? This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component. Opened BZs on 3 blockers. I'm not sure what we'll do on this one, however: No matching package to install: 'python3dist(sip) >= 5.3' RH packages 4.19.12-3 in EL8. Hi @jonathan Can you please suggest the latest on this, one of our cu needs the qgis package on RHEL 8.6. The install is failing on with below error: Error: Problem: package qgis-3.18.3-3.el8.x86_64 requires libQt5Core.so.5(Qt_5.15.2_PRIVATE_API)(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed FEDORA-EPEL-2024-cae8e22954 (qgis-3.18.3-3.el8) has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 8. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2024-cae8e22954 FEDORA-EPEL-2024-cae8e22954 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 8 testing repository.
