Description adam winberg 2020-01-09 14:45:29 UTC
Is it possible to build qgis for EPEL8?

Comment 1 Dave Johansen 2020-01-09 15:20:39 UTC
I'm no longer using QGIS on RHEL, so unfortunately I don't have the time/interest to get this setup, but the existing packages in Fedora and/or EPEL should work for any interested party to get it up and running

Comment 2 adam winberg 2020-01-13 12:24:11 UTC
I'm not using QGIS at all, this request was submitted on behalf of my users. I will leave this ticket open for a while if there are anyone else interested in maintaining this and I will check with my userbase if there is anyone willing.

I have the need and the interest. BUt I've never maintained a package. Is there a howto somewhere ?

I have read https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL_Package_Maintainers, and have contacted https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qgis to become a co-maintainer and from there manage EPEL (haven't gotten any replies yet).

Comment 5 Volker Fröhlich 2020-07-14 08:05:27 UTC
You can't co-maintain a package unless you are a packager.

I've sent my introducory email to become a packager.

Please branch and build qgis in epel8.

If you do not wish to maintain qgis in epel8,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS jonathanspw);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qgis/adduser

Comment 8 Jonathan Wright 2022-08-23 22:36:40 UTC
Will you be able to branch and build qgis in epel8?
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish
to build it on epel9 (FAS: jonathanspw).

Comment 9 adam winberg 2022-08-29 05:33:49 UTC
I'm not the maintainer, I guess the 'needinfo' should be directed to someone else?

Comment 10 Fedora Admin user for bugzilla script actions 2022-09-09 13:35:19 UTC
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

Comment 11 Jonathan Wright 2022-09-09 13:52:48 UTC
Opened BZs on 3 blockers.

I'm not sure what we'll do on this one, however:

No matching package to install: 'python3dist(sip) >= 5.3'

RH packages 4.19.12-3 in EL8.

Comment 12 vrajagop 2023-01-04 05:33:14 UTC
Hi @jonathan Can you please suggest the latest on this, one of our cu needs the qgis package on RHEL 8.6.
The install is failing on with below error:
Error:
Problem: package qgis-3.18.3-3.el8.x86_64 requires libQt5Core.so.5(Qt_5.15.2_PRIVATE_API)(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed
