Description Yogesh Babar 2020-03-18 06:25:25 UTC
Description of problem:

The Atop does not show the process of accounting information since the feature is not implemented yet. As per my basic understanding the new PMDA has to be written to implement it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

pcp-4.3.0-3.el8.x86_64

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Simply run the atop
2.

Actual results:

Shows the 'no procacct' error message.

Expected results:
It should show the process accounting information

Additional info:

If added it would be a great feature in solving RHEL performance issues.

Quick update: pcp-5.2.0 is adding the acct.* metrics to pmdaproc needed to implement this feature in pcp-atop, thanks largely to an engineer working at Fujitsu (Shogo Matsumoto). I believe he is also planning to work on pcp-atop next - but either way this RFE has gone a long way toward completion as a result of that recent work.

Thanks for the update Nathan. I cant wait to test it. Having accnt.* metrics will be a great addition. Shogo++
