Description Jan Kurik 2020-05-13 18:20:58 UTC
Description of problem:
When running pcp-testsuite tests, the testsuite generates the following error message:

libsemanage.map_file: Unable to open pcpqa.pp
 (No such file or directory).
libsemanage.semanage_direct_install_file: Unable to read file pcpqa.pp
 (No such file or directory).
semodule: Failed on pcpqa.pp!

This is caused by missing /var/lib/pcp/testsuite/pcpqa.pp file in pcp-testsuite-5.1.0-2.el8 package

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pcp-testsuite-5.1.0-2.el8

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install pcp-testsuite package
# yum install -y pcp-testsuite
2. Run the initial test 000
# cd /var/lib/pcp/testsuite && ./check 000

Actual results:
Output of "./check 000" command reports the following error:

libsemanage.map_file: Unable to open pcpqa.pp
 (No such file or directory).
libsemanage.semanage_direct_install_file: Unable to read file pcpqa.pp
 (No such file or directory).
semodule: Failed on pcpqa.pp!

Expected results:
No semodule error is reported

Additional info:
IMO this is caused by upstream commits e92cb9cf74 and b7b92f0c43, delivering incomplete grep expressions in qa/GNUmakefile.install when checking for SElinux installed modules.

Comment 1 Jan Kurik 2020-05-13 18:40:06 UTC
Proposed fix: https://github.com/performancecopilot/pcp/pull/909

Comment 2 Mark Goodwin 2020-05-14 00:20:05 UTC
In addition to Jan's PR #909, I have a qa/GNUmakefile change to build and ship pcpqa.pp from pcpqa.te in pcp-testsuite.

Comment 6 Jan Kurik 2020-06-12 13:09:27 UTC
Verified on pcp-5.1.1-2.el8 build.
