> Resetting the Password via the admin and then change password via "Your password has expired. Please enter a new password." Prompt will lead to a working webui but you can not login at any other place (ldap, kinit). Also you can not change your password anymore "2100: ACIError"
This is resetting after setting a password with a non-ASCII value?
Can't change your password again how, as whom?
Are you saying that after setting a password with the umlaut that kinit from the command-line also doesn't work?
# Behaviour 1 You begin with a unlocked account (not resetted password state). So you can login to the gui normally. You change the password in the gui OR ipa passwd to one with a umlaut You try to re-login to the gui: not possible anymore CLI tools work fine, you can change your password there with ip passwd after using kinit. # Behaviour 2 As Admin: Use ipa passwd <user> to set a password The User is presented with the "Your password has expired. Please enter a new password." dialog. He changes his password to one with a umlaut there User Logs Out of the Gui. User can login again. But he can not change his password anymore in the gui: "2100: ACIError: Invalid credentials" CLI Tools (kinit, but also any other authentication like against ldap) do not work anymore. "kinit: Password incorrect while getting initial credentials" This message is a reminder that Fedora 31 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 31 on 2020-11-24. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '31'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.
