Description
Upstream Release Monitoring
2020-08-31 19:38:40 UTC
The following Sources of the specfile are not valid URLs so we cannot automatically build the new version for you. Please use URLs in your Source declarations if possible. - mayavi2.desktop Current version in F33: 4.7.2-1.fc33 So I guess this can be closed. Latest upstream release: 4.7.3 Current version/release in rawhide: 4.7.2-2.fc34 URL: https://github.com/enthought/mayavi Please consult the package updates policy before you issue an update to a stable branch: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/ More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upstream_release_monitoring Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream. Based on the information from anitya: https://release-monitoring.org/project/10064/ Created attachment 1781914 [details]
[patch] Update to 4.7.3 (#1874247)
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of Mayavi-4.7.3-1.fc32.src.rpm for rawhide was cancelled http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=67674844 Note that mayavi needs to be rebuild with the current vtk anyways. In Fedora 34, we currently get:
$ mayavi2
********************************************************************************
WARNING: Imported VTK version (9.0) does not match the one used
to build the TVTK classes (8.2). This may cause problems.
Please rebuild TVTK.
********************************************************************************
This is with:
Mayavi-4.7.2-2.fc34.x86_64
vtk-9.0.1-8.fc34.x86_64
This affects script usage, too. For example:
from mayavi import mlab
core dumps. Should these be separate bugs or wait for a successful rebuild of mayavi against vtk 9?
On Fedora 32 with python 3.8, mayavi-4.7.2 with vtk-9.0.1 from pip do work. (envisage, traits, pyface... from pip) But they don't have wheels for current py versions.
Not an easy upstream to follow for the packager :|
