Is there any progress on this BZ? In which patch version could we expect it?

Also, the target release seems to be wrong, pointing to 4.7 despite it is a 4.6.z-stream tracker.

Even though https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1887456 fixes most of the issue, it still requires us to create a veth pair. Veth is not supported in knmstate shipped in 4.6. Having this backport available would make primary NIC reconfiguration possible, but difficult, so I won't push for this anymore.
