Description John Curcio 2006-04-23 16:47:57 UTC
Description of problem: I just purhcased a SATA300 TX4 PCI-to-SATA II card and a
Maxtor Maxline III SATA II 300 Gid disk. When I look at the /var/adm/messags
file and the results of fdisk, it seems that the machine thinks the disk is only
6 Gig in size. Is this a problem with Fedora, the TX4 or the disk (unlikely)? I
believe I read that FC5 supports this card natively.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: less /var/log/messages and/or fdisk

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results: Only sees disk as 6 Gig

Expected results: See approximately 300 Gig of disk

Additional info:
I also noticed that upon boot-up, it recogznies the TX4 and apparently attempts
to load something from the card, but ultimately reports "No BIOS found".

Well, even though Promise Technology's tech support was rather pitiful I found
the problem [it's a dumb one, believe me!] and now I'm seeing my disk (and
booting from it) without any problem. I'm closing this bug.
