Please can you fix the reported problem? If you can't do that, I can fix the problem myself. But I need to know 2 things: "wrong version" + "correct version". Is that something you can provide to us? I suggest to use the term "Sekundäre Verbindung <number>" instead of the current "Sklave <number>". The English term in the same place is "slave device 1". Are there chances that we get that translation changed? what you see there is the name of the connection profile. It's a "name", not a text to be translated. Also, it depends how you created those profiles. for example, if you call LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 nmcli connection add type ethernet master br0 slave-type bridge to create a profile, then nmcli chooses the name "bridge-slave". Yes, this means if a user with a certain locale creates a profile, then the name might be in the wrong language for a user with another locale. I don't see a solution for that. In general, how did you you create those profiles? Then, at the point where they are created, the name is chosen. Also, NetworkManager's translations don't contain the term "Sklave". Neither does anacona nor gnome-control-center. This is the name suggested initially, so directly after booting the RHEL (or Fedora) media, switching to German, and trying to generate a Bond device. The suggestion "Slave" seems to come from one component on the media, I assumed NetworkManager localization but that might be wrong. Not having a good source code browser here. I don't know where the term "Sklave" comes from. Not from NetworkManager. Can you find out how exactly those profiles were created, and how this name was chosen? ah, it comes from nm-connection-editor. Reassigning. There are several problematic occurences of "Sklave" in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/network-manager-applet/-/blob/master/po/de.po - it would be great to update all of them. Since we are also doing https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1949023 it seems to make sense to do this at the same time. Can we replace "Sklave" with "Port"? "Port" seems like an excellent replacement, the best I got aware of so far. Catching all instances would be good. Patch posted upstream. That is a literal translation of the English term, but for German there are probably better terms. This also reminds me of Red Hat's activity to "avoid problematic language", which aims at preventing "slave" in English, but as of today no other languages seem to be subject to that activity.
