Settings when logging in after logging out

Description of problem:
When logging out from my workstation (gnome) and then logging back in, there is no sound device available (no sound input or output).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pipewire-0.3.26-1.fc34.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log out
2. Log in

Actual results:
There is no sound device usable

Expected results:
Sound output and input device are usable.

Additional info:
This might be related to pipewire-media-session not restarting properly during logout/login. Manually running pipewire-media-session after login makes sound working fine again:

Experiencing the same. After a fresh boot, there is no sound device listed in Gnome.

When manually restarting pipewire or downgrading, it works fine.

Experienced the same. downgrading worked.

Comment 3 Basil Eric Rabi 2021-05-06 01:25:48 UTC
Seems to work okay if you log-in with a different account after logging out.

This is still an issue with pipewire-0.3.27-1.
