Created attachment 1774973 [details] Settings when logging in after logging out Description of problem: When logging out from my workstation (gnome) and then logging back in, there is no sound device available (no sound input or output). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): pipewire-0.3.26-1.fc34.x86_64 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log out 2. Log in Actual results: There is no sound device usable Expected results: Sound output and input device are usable. Additional info: This might be related to pipewire-media-session not restarting properly during logout/login. Manually running pipewire-media-session after login makes sound working fine again: $ pipewire-media-session [E][000000596.039925][backend-native.c:1173 sco_listen()] native: listen(): Address already in use [W][000000600.636718][media-session.c:1718 proxy_link_error()] can't link 67:68 -> 57:62: link-factory: can't link ports 68 and 62: File exists [W][000000600.636762][media-session.c:2144 core_error()] error id:41 seq:699 res:-17 (File exists): link-factory: can't link ports 68 and 62: File exists [W][000000600.636778][media-session.c:1718 proxy_link_error()] can't link 67:69 -> 57:60: link-factory: can't link ports 69 and 60: File exists [W][000000600.636791][media-session.c:2144 core_error()] error id:36 seq:700 res:-17 (File exists): link-factory: can't link ports 69 and 60: File exists [W][000000601.094413][media-session.c:1718 proxy_link_error()] can't link 67:69 -> 57:62: link-factory: can't link ports 69 and 62: File exists [W][000000601.094478][media-session.c:2144 core_error()] error id:36 seq:783 res:-17 (File exists): link-factory: can't link ports 69 and 62: File exists [W][000000601.094510][media-session.c:1718 proxy_link_error()] can't link 67:71 -> 57:60: link-factory: can't link ports 71 and 60: File exists [W][000000601.094554][media-session.c:2144 core_error()] error id:39 seq:784 res:-17 (File exists): link-factory: can't link ports 71 and 60: File exists [E][000000602.431237][conf.c:216 pw_conf_save_state()] can't rename temp file 'restore-stream.tmp': No such file or directory [E][000000602.431346][restore-stream.c:90 remove_idle_timeout()] can't save restore-stream state: No such file or directory
Experiencing the same. After a fresh boot, there is no sound device listed in Gnome. When manually restarting pipewire or downgrading, it works fine.
Experienced the same. downgrading worked.
Seems to work okay if you log-in with a different account after logging out.
This is still an issue with pipewire-0.3.27-1.
Experiencing the same on pipewire-0.3.27-2.fc34
