Comment 4 jiri vanek 2022-02-06 12:38:30 UTC
both
  https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/java-17-openjdk/pull-request/6
and
  https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/java-11-openjdk/pull-request/143
merged.

Mass rebuild runs 5th and 7th of February with aprox 65 failures in sidetag f36-java17. FTBFS will be filled.
Side tag considered healthy, and will be asked to merge.

Comment 5 jiri vanek 2022-02-06 12:39:21 UTC
Also whole javapackages and maven toolchain got merged to rawhide and built for f36-java17

Comment 6 jiri vanek 2022-02-07 12:41:00 UTC
Hello!

The side tag was merged.

Comment 7 Ben Cotton 2022-02-08 21:06:34 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 36 development cycle.
Changing version to 36.

Comment 8 Ben Cotton 2022-02-08 21:15:06 UTC
Today we reached the Code Complete (testable) milestone in the F36 schedule: https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-36/f-36-key-tasks.html

All code for this change should be complete enough for testing. You can indicate this by setting the bug status to MODIFIED. (If the code is fully complete, you can go ahead and set it to ON_QA.)

If you need to defer this Change to F37, please needinfo bcotton.

Comment 9 Ben Cotton 2022-02-09 19:33:05 UTC
Since the side tag was merged, I'm setting this tracker bug to MODIFIED to indicate that it is testable.

Comment 10 Ben Cotton 2022-02-22 16:34:03 UTC
We have reached the 'Change complete (100% complete)' deadline in the Fedora Linux 36 release schedule.

At this time, all Changes should be fully complete. Indicate this by setting this tracking bug to ON_QA.

If you need to defer this Change to a subsequent release, please needinfo me.

Comment 11 Zbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek 2022-03-01 18:25:41 UTC
java-17-openjdk is the provider of /bin/javac in F36.
The packages that FTBFS can always be switched to use java-11-openjdk if they cannot be fixed
to build with 17.

Comment 12 Ben Cotton 2022-05-10 14:41:45 UTC
F36 was released today. If this Change did not land in the release, please notify bcotton as soon as possible.

Comment 13 Fabio Valentini 2022-05-16 22:09:03 UTC
I wonder if this change can actually be considered "completed"?
For example, openjdk packages do not get changed from java-11-openjdk to java-17-openjdk when upgrading from Fedora 35 to 36, which is a bit unexpected.
