icecat failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f36 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=81786249 For details on the mass rebuild see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_36_Mass_Rebuild Please fix icecat at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks, icecat will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 37, icecat will be retired, if it still fails to build. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 36 development cycle. Changing version to 36.
This is important for at least rawhide because libvpx had a soname bump and the current version of icecat won't run. (It will install because there isn't a dependency of the specific version of libvpx's api.)
Unfortunately i can't build IceCat because of bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1753402
It looks like there was a fix produced 5 days ago and that bug is now closed. Though there has not been a successful firefox build in rawhide since then either.
I see the fix will likely help firefox, but a different fix is needed for icecat because something changed in between version 91 and 97. I don't think anyone is working on that upstream. Also there might be other issues that show up after this one is fixed, as supposedly the fix worked for our firefox, but the builds are still failing.

Thanks for working on this. I see the current build attempt has succeeded for a few arches including x86_64, so I'll have something to try out tonight. I have missed having a working icecat the last few weeks.
icecat-91.7.0-1.rh1.fc37.x86_64 seems to be working fine in rawhide. Thanks again!
