Description Orion Poplawski 2022-01-08 02:42:07 UTC
Description of problem:

python-zope-testing-4.7-5 is a buildroot only package in RHEL9 - https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=3216

It would be helpful to build this for epel9, thanks.

Comment 1 Orion Poplawski 2022-01-08 02:44:53 UTC
Similar for python-zope-event 4.2.0-21 - https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=3214

python-zope-event should probably be updated to 4.5.0 first (Bug 1475058).
Also, the maintainer of that may not be aware of this request so it probably merits a separate ticket.

Comment 3 Miro HronĨok 2022-01-15 10:20:26 UTC
python-zope-testing is not included in RHEL9 nor in the buildroot. see https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/rpms/python-zope-testing/-/commit/18bf2416bdaf7f9b8746d56e4a6a4184e3ee0ac1

Comment 4 Orion Poplawski 2022-01-15 15:42:08 UTC
Miro - thanks for the info, previously I just saw builds of the packages in centos stream 9 koji and assumed they were available. So there shouldn't be any restrictions on the versions we provide in EPEL9.

Comment 5 Paul Howarth 2022-01-16 10:37:46 UTC
Orion, the approach I use to check if something is available from CentOS stream is to check the same metadata that fedpkg uses (fedpkg/utils.py) when generating a branch request:

https://composes.stream.centos.org/production/latest-CentOS-Stream/compose/metadata/rpms.json

Comment 7 Orion Poplawski 2022-02-02 00:27:30 UTC
Hmm, Tomas's bugzilla account appears to be disabled. Other maintainers - are you able to branch and build this for EPEL9? If not, please add me (orion) to the package and I will. Thanks.
It seems to build fine: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=82262873

Comment 8 Dan Radez 2022-02-08 16:01:20 UTC
Could one of the maintainers add Orion (fas: orion) or me (fas: radez) to a committers list so we could build this package please?

Comment 9 Dan Radez 2022-02-15 14:02:21 UTC
I emailed Aurelien outside of bugzilla and got a response.
Orion and I have been added to python-zope-testing to help maintain the epel9 branch.

I have requested the branch:

FEDORA-EPEL-2022-fadebcb44f has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 9. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2022-fadebcb44f

Comment 11 Dan Radez 2022-02-15 14:44:43 UTC
I've just realized that the title of this bug requests python-zope-testing 4.5.
I've been just building the latest release for my epel9 builds, which is 4.7 for this package.

Is there a reason 4.5 was required or will 4.7 be fine?

Comment 12 Orion Poplawski 2022-02-15 18:58:51 UTC
4.7 will be fine. I had been under the mistaken impression that this was a buildroot only package and so thought we should maintain the same version.
