Description Michel Lind 2022-05-06 18:07:56 UTC
Please branch and build google-croscore-fonts in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain google-croscore-fonts in epel9,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/google-croscore-fonts/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: salimma);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/google-croscore-fonts/adduser

May I know the reason you would like to see this package in epel9?
AFAICS this package was never a part of any EPEL or RHEL release.

Comment 2 Jens Petersen 2022-05-11 13:01:42 UTC
I think this makes sense for Chromium and I suggest we should also add it to epel8 and epel7.

Comment 3 Michel Lind 2022-05-25 18:51:07 UTC
Yeah, it's a dependency for Chromium (see the blocked bug linked)

Can we get this branched? I'm happy to do the work (or the EPEL Packagers SIG will too).

Comment 4 Parag Nemade 2022-05-26 01:02:17 UTC
I am not getting time to update this package in Fedora. I have a plan to split this package in 3 different packages and backport it to all required EPEL.

I saw Chromium is already not using Fedora package sources which is beyond my understanding why? Hence no use of backporting from Fedora to EPEL9.

Hence I thought better update this package but now individual fonts have individual upstreams so better split this package.
