Update to 4.0.1 (#2143436)
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of python-bitstring-4.0.1-1.fc36.src.rpm for rawhide failed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=94253478 Upstream has merged a change which will unblock the use of modern python packaging macros, and intends to release that change soon. I'll hold off on the update for that release. In the mean time, I'm testing the downstream packages in this COPR: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/cottsay/bitstring-chain/builds/ Looks like there is a breaking change here that will break esptool. Upstream is aware of the issue and is working on a fix: https://github.com/espressif/esptool/commit/09e41df303a6a9d52828de814e1de130821f609b Releases retrieved: 4.0.2 Upstream release that is considered latest: 4.0.2 Current version/release in rawhide: 3.1.9-6.fc38 URL: https://github.com/scott-griffiths/bitstring Please consult the package updates policy before you issue an update to a stable branch: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/ More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Upstream_Release_Monitoring Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream. Based on the information from Anitya: https://release-monitoring.org/project/14665/ To change the monitoring settings for the project, please visit: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-bitstring Scratch build failed.
