We definitely should utilize multiple threads for cleaner, similarly like we do for reporter (concurrent collection of plugins). But the situation is not such easy as it was with sosreport's plugins - see https://github.com/sosreport/sos/issues/3097 I raised.

@pmoravec Is there any update on this bug? We have an increasing number of complaints on this.

Hello,

We're reviewing implementation options here, but some context would also help us out:

1. What version of sos is being used for `--clean`?
2. What kind of complaints are you getting, just that it takes a while or something else?
3. How long are you seeing obfuscation take, and what do you expect it to take?
4. What kind of environments are these reports being generated from?
5. Are you able to share an example archive that generates these complaints?
