Comment 3 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2023-09-05 08:40:33 UTC
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 39-beta by Fedora user lnie using the blocker tracking app because:

This bug is ugly and cause some inconvenience to users, and to developers when some bug happens,as the error/warning messages are all translated to local language.

Comment 4 Kamil Páral 2023-09-05 09:12:12 UTC
It seems you've forgotten to attach the screencast that you mentioned in comment 0 ;-) Can you please add it?

Based on the description, I'm also proposing this as a Final blocker due to:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_39_Final_Release_Criteria#Installer_translations

I'd also consider a Beta blocker, because this will make debugging issues much harder for developers and also it might mean that a user might not be able to understand the installer (when geolocation gets it wrong, when the user is visiting a different country, etc), but this is a new situation which we don't have covered in our release criteria, it seems.

Comment 5 Martin Kolman 2023-09-05 12:14:47 UTC
I think this is probably a duplicate of bug 2232579, whioch as been fixed in anaconda-39.32.1-1.

Looking at the anaconda.log attached to this bug, this is running on Anaconda 39.32-1:

03:44:54,292 INF main: /sbin/anaconda 39.32-1.fc39

This is the previous version without the fix for bug 2232579, so the issue still shows up.

Comment 6 Kamil Páral 2023-09-05 13:01:08 UTC
Thanks, Martin!

Lili, can you please confirm whether the fix works with the latest install image?

Comment 7 lnie 2023-09-06 01:09:26 UTC
Yes,the bug is fixed,closing,thanks:)

Comment 8 Adam Williamson 2023-09-06 01:17:30 UTC
let's mark it as a dupe, then, since it almost certainly was the same bug.
