Description andrewchapleau 2024-03-16 00:26:31 UTC
Running Fedora 40 Pre-release on my Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro with a screen size of 15.6 inches and a resolution of 1920x1080 at 125% scaling with KDE Plasma 6 v6.0.2, icons in toolbars and dialog boxes in all LibreOffice applications are rendered very large. Using 100% scaling in KDE Plasma settings, the icons and menubars are rendered proportionately to the application, however the dialog boxes are still not scaled properly. Running LibreOffice v24.2.1.2.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open any LibreOffice application
Actual Results:
Icons in toolbars and contents of dialog boxes are huge and extend past the boundries of their windows.

Expected Results:
Icons and dialog boxes are properly scaled.

UPDATE- Installing libreoffice-kf5 package and starting LibreOffice with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5 libreoffice --writer fixes the issue. Seems to be a bug in the current kf6 package.

Comment 6 Mattia Verga 2024-03-17 08:32:20 UTC
Also `WAYLAND_DISPLAY= libreoffice --writer` should work. See #2268500

I've posted a message in Fedora KDE matrix channel about that.

Comment 7 Alessandro Astone 2024-03-17 10:46:07 UTC
Ok, this is fixed by https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/commit/86abb6fd8a8f680f9fc5ff1db775845c9f4e254b

As per the commit message, it can already by applied with QT_SCALE_FACTOR_ROUNDING_POLICY="Round"

Comment 8 Alessandro Astone 2024-03-17 11:19:44 UTC
If i understand correctly, that is on track to be released with 24.2.2; but if that doesn't happen please consider backporting the fix to get this in Fedora 40 before release @libreoffice-sig
