Description Michal Jaegermann 2007-02-14 21:31:45 UTC
Description of problem:

An attempt to update to control-center-2.17.91-1.fc7 ends up with:
"scriptlet failed, exit status 1"
After a removal of ">&/dev/null" redirection and running that
stand-alone this shows up at an output end:

I/O warning : failed to load external entity
"/etc/gconf/schemas/control-center.schemas"
Failed to open `/etc/gconf/schemas/control-center.schemas': No such file or
directory

There is nothing which would force a return status to 0 so yum
rejects that update.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
control-center-2.17.91-1.fc7.

I think mclasen fixed this today, not sure though, so CCing him.

Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2007-02-14 22:18:27 UTC
Fixed

Comment 3 Jim Cornette 2007-02-14 23:27:46 UTC
I don't know if this would influence future updates which assumed control-center
installed, which it did not. I eneded up getting an instance of bug-buddy when
either evince or evolution was being installed. The error was related to
nautilus which was not opened in a browser.

The bug was filed upstream.

BTW, I like the return of the system menus vs. the control-center icons.

I had the same problem yesterday.
Today I did a "yum install control-center" and it gave a huge amount of scary
messages (see a tiny chunk of the tail end quoted below) but it apparently
succeeded.

But now the System / Preferences menu is gone! :-( I can only get to System /

This issue is unrelated to the original reason for this bug. Please don't pile on
like that. I've fixed the problem anyway, in gnome-menus-2.17.91-2.fc7
