Pierre, thank you for your bug report. This likely is the same issue which I just did a blog post about (1). Please read my blog post and see if one of the 2 solutions / workarounds provided there works: https://hansdegoede.dreamwidth.org/28552.html 1) I was already planning on doing a blog post and you filing this was the trigger to (finally) get it done Many thanks! My system was not using the amdgpu driver, so the blacklist approach worked fine resolving the issue here! |
Created attachment 2046849 [details] plymouth debug log Description of problem: When my machine boots, I just get the fallback three dots. On shutdown, I get the expected motherboard logo and spinner. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): plymouth-24.004.60-12.fc40.x86_64 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot Actual results: Boot animation is the three text dots. Expected results: Boot animation is the motherboard logo and the spinner. Additional info: Doesn't help to do "sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -rR". Attached a debug log from plymouth.
