Description Romain Geissler 2025-03-01 14:17:58 UTC
Hi,

Would it be possible to fast-forward the branch epel10 to the content of the rawhide branch, so that we upgrade to version 1.2.0 ? This would be needed to branch python-parsel requriring cssselect >= 1.2.0. The cssselect release 1.2.0 is old, it was released in 2022, so normally all packages using it were already tested against this release.

It builds fine from the rawhide branch content right now: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=129709227

I may help co-maintaining the EPEL branches to do this if needed (fas id: romaingeissler1a).

Since I am not sure people in the infra SIG actually receive notifications, I am assigning this to the main package admin in fedora.

I’ll take a look

Somewhat related: I have submitted to upgrade the rawhide version to 1.3.0: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-cssselect/pull-request/2

Comment 5 Romain Geissler 2025-03-30 11:29:53 UTC
With the above pull request merged in rawhide, I did an impact check in CentOS 10. Only python-pyquery depends on python-cssselect, and a local chained mockbuild was still working after the upgrade to 1.3.0 in CentOS 10. So I will upgrade to 1.3.0 in both EPEL 10.0 & 10.1.
