the description sounds a bit like upstream bug 334966:

who knows, evo still crashes, but it could be another bug

can you provide a stacktrace of the crash? your original report also states
"Additional info:
See upstream bug (and proposed patch)" which confuses me - which upstream bug?

The upstream bug is full of stacks (see external bugzilla reference)

Otherwise I gave up on trying to pre-filter evo traces since I've learnt evo can
crash for many different reasons at the same place. I just let bugbuddy fill
upstream bugzilla and let evo developpers decide if they already know the
problem or not
