Created attachment 2108949 [details]
Please refer the screenshot were after the installation in Simplified Chinese locale the Input source menu is not available for user

Comment 2 Jens Petersen 2025-10-07 12:35:12 UTC
I reproduced this too: despite selecting (accepting) the default IME selection in gnome-initial-setup
and the Indicator appearing in the panel at that time after gnome-initial-setup the Input Source indicator
is gone, woof - and CJK users need to setup their IME again by hand in gnome Setup.

Adding a link of Keyboard layout configuration Release Criteria - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_43_Final_Release_Criteria#Keyboard_layout_configuration

Comment 4 Jens Petersen 2025-10-07 14:08:21 UTC
I tested F42 (with F42-WORK-x86_64-LIVE-20251001) and it works correctly there.

Comment 5 Adam Williamson 2025-10-07 22:07:24 UTC
While testing this I noticed another little issue with Japanese - https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-initial-setup/-/issues/238 .

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2025-10-08 04:21:10 UTC
I opened https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-initial-setup/-/issues/239 for this issue.

Comment 7 Mike FABIAN 2025-10-09 05:31:23 UTC
I also saw the same when installing Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-41-20240820.n.0.iso in Japanese.
Even though ibus-anthy was preselected in gnome-initial-settings after the installation and the first reboot, ibus-anthy was not in the gnome-panel, I had to add it again manually using gnome-control-center.

Comment 8 Parag Nemade 2025-10-09 09:17:17 UTC
I installed today Fedora-Silverblue-ostree-x86_64-43-20251008.n.0.iso and tried to install in Marathi language. Though gnome-initial-setup showed Marathi (inscript2) as default keymap being set but I could not see any keymap once session started after gnome-initial-setup complete. Only "en" keymap available.

AGREED AcceptedFinalBlocker

Discussed at the 2025-10-13 (blocker / freeze exception) review meeting:

This violates the first boot experience criterion, when the user configures an input method in it: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_43_Final_Release_Criteria#First_boot_experience

The above update works for me. Now, the system includes the input method that has been selected previously.
