Description Kevin Krafthefer 2007-05-30 16:23:39 UTC
pup steals focus and forefront when opening new windows. this is inconsistent
with other gui apps, a bit annoying, and, well, selfish.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

pirut-1.2.8-1.fc6

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use pup to update your system
2.
3.

Actual results:
every window pup opens overlays active window and steals focus.

Expected results:
every window pup opens is not forced to the forefront and does not steal focus.

Additional info:
it would be nice to have a minimal chat option where pup simply informs the user
that there are updates, user can choose to update, and the update is performed
in background.

also, the text message method of informing users that there are updates
available is unclean; this notification should perhaps be done by changing the
panel icon.

I also find this behavior to be rather obnoxious.

This is still broken in F8.

Comment 6 John Poelstra 2008-04-04 21:37:47 UTC
thanks for the update

Comment 7 Jeremy Katz 2008-05-28 19:09:35 UTC
This isn't going to get changed at this point as pirut is pretty much entirely
EOL'd and only getting critical fixes for older releases.
