+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #243275 +++

Description of problem:
pand init script returns wrong error codes and also some parts of the script
prevents correct call of status command. For example:
[ "${NETWORKING}" = "yes" ] || exit 0

status command is run correctly.
