Not able to recreate this bug. Have tried running the "anaconda --reconfig" and it correctly display Chinese (albeit the help text is in English - not translated). Also tried running from a boot sequence (after touching /etc/reconfigSys). How was the reconfig invoked ? Can it actually be done directly from a boot media ? The GUI mode reconfig is fixed (it works! :) ) in the latest 7.0tc-upload test tree; but now the TUI characters in TUI mode reconfig (instead of displaying proper english characters) now display garbage binary data ... to be clear, the way to test the reconfig mode is to: 1) install 7.0tc (including X component and anaconda and anaconda-runtime packages in the install) 2) post install, at the first boot, create the file /etc/reconfigSys (ie % touch /etc/reconfigSys) 3) reboot the machine 4) depending on the /etc/inittab initial run-level (3 or 5) the system reconfig tool will run in GUI or TUI mode in the current test tree (7.0tc-upload), the GUI mode reconfig works properly (ie chinese characters) but the TUI mode reconfig fails (instead of english characters, bad binary garbage is displayed) ... Changed default locale to C - so first screens are English - user can then change to Chinese when in GUI mode. Brock, has this issue been resolved? Closing due to inactivity. Please reopen if you have any more info. |
