From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)

I'm running a Compaq EN/866 with onboard sound (which the drivers provided
don't work for (they didn't work in 7.0 and the OSS stuff won't work
either)) enabled. When I tried to run XMMS it locked my system up (I let
it run overnight to see if it would break out and it didnt). No biggie
(if you're running NT) so I rebooted. See above for the message it hangs
on boot with. I'm going to rebuild my system and see if I can get it to
do it again.

Reproducible: Didn't try

apmd doesn't have anything to do with this. Assigning to kernel.

Comment 2 Need Real Name 2001-02-02 16:55:56 UTC
The system only hangs on the SMP kernel... go figure

Comment 3 Michael K. Johnson 2001-02-08 21:19:24 UTC
ACPI is no longer configured into our current kernel sources.
Re-open this bug if you see this hang with a later kernel that
does not report ACPI error messages.
