Description Jan Kratochvil 2007-11-19 18:34:31 UTC
Two friends of mine tried installing Fedora 8 and for both of them it early
crashed. New installation (no upgrade), empty disk.

System (1): notebook P-III, 256MB RAM, 20GB PATA disk
Error: UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can`t decode byte 0xc5 in position6:
ordinal not in range (128)
(but I have no backtrace for it)

It offers to report the problem to a server but he does not know
  the server (?) address.

Mandrake works there out of the box.

System (2): notebook Intel 1.8GHz, 1GB RAM

Do you test the installations on old enough PCs?

Sure expecting some NOTABUG here, it is just a flame.

What language was the first installation done in? What's the problem you are
seeing with the second one?

Comment 2 Jan Kratochvil 2007-11-19 18:44:12 UTC
Both were (most probably) language=Czech, I suggested later English but that was
too late for (1), (2) still may try it.
