Description jeremy 1999-07-23 22:34:05 UTC
Using RH6.0, latest boot images, kickstart will work until
it tries to install lilo to the mbr.

I had an existing dos partition defined. When it gets to
the lilo installation point, I get an error that the boot
loader could not be installed. Being the inquisitive type,
I manually removed the dos section from /mnt/etc/lilo.conf
and ran /mnt/sbin/lilo -r /mnt, and then lilo installed.
When I went back to the error screen in the installer and
told it to retry, it failed again. So, I went back to the
shell prompt and cat'ed the /mnt/etc/lilo.conf and it
mysteriously had the dos section again.

Having the lilo portion of kickstart being configurable to
only deal with the linux partitions would be a plus. I can
go back an run lilo again after the machine is up. As it is,
this bug is a kickstart stopper.

Issue is resolved in the latest installer.
