Description of problem: Kernel update 2.6.24.3-12 kills sound for cards using 
snd-hda-intel driver

How reproducible: update to kernel 2.6.24.3-12 and rely on snd-hda-intel 
driver


Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum -y update kernel
2. reboot
3. notice you don't have a working sound card driver

The kernel developers seem to know about this problem.

snd-hda-intel support depends on the exact codec and how the connections are
wired internally. It works for most people in 2.6.24.3.

actually i see that for most people it doesnt work, including me
