Changing version to '9' as part of upcoming Fedora 9 GA. More information and reason for this action is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping Sure, it should be allowed. Actually rpmbuild tries to figure out whether the arch check is needed for certain action such as those you noted. But then it successfully ignores :) RPM ignores it no more in upstream where I just fixed it. *** Bug 485269 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Reopening as there were unwanted side effects in the patch fixing this (RPMTAG_BUILDARCHS wasn't written to SRPM when doing -bs). I will close this bug again as soon as I have a better fix. Just fyi, this bug is causing problems in koji, now that it supports building noarch subpackages. Problem is we're building packages with BuildArch: i386, that generates some subpackages to all architectures. (So we can't use ExclusiveArch). If the srpm happens to be built on a ppc, or x86_64, it will fail. I'm bumping the priority of this to medium, since it's preventing our buildsystem to work properly in all cases.
