If you run system-config-display from gnome-terminal, you should see a traceback when you click the "ok" button. What does that traceback print? Here is the trackback info. Lines starting with "Click OK ..." are my comments. Click OK first time: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 201, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Click OK second time: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 201, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Click OK 4 more times: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 156, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 156, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 156, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 156, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Click Cancel and program quits Changing version to '9' as part of upcoming Fedora 9 GA. More information and reason for this action is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping I have the same problem on my Thinkpad T43 (intel video) with attached LCD. # system-config-display Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 201, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 156, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 156, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Same problem here (Radeon X800 GTO): Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 152, in ok second_monitor = self.xconfig.monitor[1] IndexError: index out-of-bounds Depending on how you interact with s-c-d, the error could be this instead: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 201, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Same error with the radeonhd driver. A workaround is to use xrandr directly to configure dual head - then it works for me at least. I will attach xorg.conf and xrand -q --verbose output as well. # lspci | grep ATI 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon X1300/X1550 Series] 01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon X1300 Pro] (Secondary) # uname -a Linux apollo2 2.6.25.14-108.fc9.i686 #1 SMP Mon Aug 4 14:08:11 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux $ system-config-display Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 201, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Created attachment 317680 [details]

Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 9. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '9'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 9's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 9 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping This problem still exists: system-config-display-1.1.1-1.fc10.noarch (In reply to comment #13) > This problem still exists: > system-config-display-1.1.1-1.fc10.noarch I'm still seeing this bug on Fedora 11 system-config-display-1.1.3-2.fc11.noarch Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 212, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 212, in ok if card.getDescription() == self.secondVideocardOptionMenu.get_menu().get_active().get_data("NAME"): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_data' Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 167, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xConfigDialog.py", line 167, in ok lower_vrefresh, upper_vrefresh = self.second_monitor_vrefresh ValueError: too many values to unpack Window manager warning: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on display ':17.0'. Fedora 9 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2009-07-10. Fedora 9 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
