Description David Woodhouse 2008-05-12 16:30:11 UTC
Too many people just don't _know_ that Fedora supports network installs.
The page at http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora has no mention of the fact
that you can just burn a small boot.iso and install over the network -- it only
has the BT and full DVD ISO images. We should link to boot.iso for network
installs too.

Comment 1 Jesse Keating 2008-05-12 18:21:37 UTC
It should reference the Fedora-9-<arch>-netinst.iso instead (which is a hardlink
to boot.iso). It'll exist in the isos dir, there is a sha1sum of it to verify,
and the name is more clear than "boot.iso".

Comment 2 David Woodhouse 2008-05-13 14:50:04 UTC
Yes, that would be a good idea. Although we seem to have missed the release now,
it's not too late to fix it...

Comment 4 eric 2009-06-26 04:26:27 UTC
Is this something we should a) shoot for F12 and b) document in our Install Guide?

Comment 5 Paul W. Frields 2009-06-26 13:18:04 UTC
I'd vote a) yes and b) yes.

Comment 6 eric 2009-06-26 13:29:50 UTC
Who do we talk to about generating and posting net install ISOs?

Comment 7 Jesse Keating 2009-06-26 13:36:38 UTC
the isos are distributed on the mirrors. So they are generated and posted as part of the normal release duties.

Comment 8 Hiemanshu 2009-06-26 13:43:34 UTC
The links will be added later in the day once the Web team had though over this.
So right now this bug will be on hold.

Comment 9 Hiemanshu 2009-06-26 21:20:18 UTC
Links have been added : http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora-all
Bug Report is closed now.

Comment 10 eric 2009-08-05 18:43:23 UTC
Tickets move to docs-request so the fedora-websites component can be removed per request from Ricky.
