Did you reboot into a different kernel since this morning? Can you try this on
an older kernel and if it works figure out what kernel package caused this?

OTOH, there's

and I think user space (e.g. HAL) can deal with this. However, that appears to
be a broken symlink (according to 'tree /sys' output).

This message is a reminder that Fedora 9 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 9.  It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained.  At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 
'version' of '9'.

plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
