Description of problem: When installing a new Fedora 9 system from the original install DVD, after installation PackageKit detects that there are many security updates to install and pops up a notification message on the screen with all the security updates. The pop up notification contains so many items that it it too big to fit the screen and overflows from the top of the screen and the notification's close button is not accessible. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.1.12-10.20080505 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Get a very not up to date Fedora 9 installation 2. Log in as a user 3. Wait for PackageKit to show the security updates notification Actual results: Update notification covers the whole right side of screen and still overflows. Expected results: The update notification should not be larger then the screen so that all of the user interaction elements should be plainly visible (such as the close button at the top and the "don't bother me again" button at the bottom). Additional info: I personally don't think that a details list of packages that have security updates must be shown - if there are too many packages then a summary will do nicely ("so and so packages need to be updated"), otherwise a scroll-bar or a paging mechanism should be fitted into the update notification. A screen shot showing the problem is attached.
