Description Mark J. Cox 2008-07-04 11:47:39 UTC
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures assigned an identifier CVE-2008-2310 to the following vulnerability:

http://sourceware.org/ml/binutils/2007-11/msg00221.html

There are two format string vulnerabilities in c++filt program of binutils.

This issue does not affect the version of c++filt as shipped with binutils in Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 3 or 4.

Although this bug is present in the version of c++filt as shipped with bintuils in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, the format string protection from FORTIFY_SOURCE
makes this unexploitable.
