This was discussed ad nausseam in other bugs -- for example in the one I am closing this as duplicate of (you can read discussion of what to do there). Considering flash-plugin -- install nspluginwrapper.i386 and nspluginwrapper.x86_64, and flash-plugin.i386. It just works (as I am writing this on x86_64, I am listening to Emilia's "Big Big World" on youtube ;-)). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 425951 *** |
Created attachment 319344 [details] Patch to /usr/bin/firefox Description of problem: There are some things that are difficult to do in 64 bit firefox - get a plugin for flash is one of them. On a 64 bit box 32 bit firefox seems to be installed as well as the 64 bit one. I attach a small patch to /usr/bin/firefox that looks for /etc/sysconfig/firefox and ~/.firefoxrc -- and only sets MOZ_ARCH if it is not set (presumably in one of the scripts above). I can thus put in one of the config files the line: MOZ_ARCH=i386 and get the version that I want to run. I hope that you find this useful, I know several others who have had problems with the 64 bit firefox.
