"network unreachable" errors means that connection to target (temporarily) doesn't exist. It seems that computer has IPv6 configured but lacks IPv6 connectivity. The "open files is smaller than max sockets" problem is kernel bug which is already fixed in 2.6.28 (bug #461458) I'm reassigning this bug to logwatch because "network unreachable..." and "too many timeouts resolving..." errors should not be reported in logwatch (or should be compressed) These logs are parsed/ignored by the last version of logwatch (logwatch-7.3.6-39.fc11.noarch). The problem may have been fixed in 2.6.28 but Fedora 10 is currently at kernel-2.6.27.24-170.2.68 and the problem regarding open files vs sockets persists. logwatch-7.3.6-37.fc10 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 10. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/logwatch-7.3.6-37.fc10 logwatch-7.3.6-37.fc10 has been pushed to the Fedora 10 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. |
