Description Stephen John Smoogen 2001-07-08 01:58:05 UTC
Description of Problem:

I did an everything install on my 200Mhz MMX box today. It has 128M and a 6
gig hard-drive. After the install had finished writing partitions, but
before it began the Pre-Install counter.. the machine sat for 4 minutes not
showing any status change. Looking at ps auxww showed anaconda process
running at 30% cpu but nothing else taking up much.

How Reproducible:
reproduced 3 times.

I think that if this an ext3 issue or a package finding issue that we
should display at least a small screen saying

"Processing"

that fades or blinks in and out so that the user doesnt think the
machine/install hard locked.

The RC1 install looks much better.
All the waits except one were accompanied with a popup telling me what was
going on. The one that didnt have a pop-up seems to have been package selection
or soemthing. I couldnt see anything on ALT-F1{..F6} to tell me what was going
on. However.. the install didnt take anywhere as long as Beta1 did

Thanks
