Thanks for the heads-up. I've opened a discussion on fedora-kernel-list. https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-kernel-list/2009-February/msg00100.html The problem is too in kernel-firmware-2.6.29-0.159.rc6.git3.fc11.noarch This got fixed at some point and is no longer an issue in current rawhide. Indeed, I checked kernel-2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64.rpm (the -firmware subpackage seems to have been merged with the main package) and it no longer seems to contain any ALSA firmware. rpm -qpl kernel-2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64.rpm |grep firmware /lib/modules/2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/firmware /lib/modules/2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/firmware/dcdbas.ko /lib/modules/2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/firmware/dell_rbu.ko /lib/modules/2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/firmware/edd.ko /lib/modules/2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/firmware/iscsi_ibft.ko /lib/modules/2.6.29.1-70.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/usb/misc/isight_firmware.ko |
